Still banned in Kenya, Rafiki, which means friend in Swahili, tells the love story of Kena, a studious introvert, and Ziki, a free spirit. With beautiful, nuanced performances and engaging visuals, this film will stay with you long after viewing it. Directed by Wanuri Kahiu, the film was selected to premiere at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and was the first Kenyan film to screen at the festival. The presentation of the film coincides with National Coming Out Day.
