Campus Conversations Project: Free Speech, Hate Speech and Campus Life

Trained student volunteers from the Campus Conversation Project will facilitate a discussion on free speech, hate speech and campus life. This session is for current NC State students. No prior preparation is required to participate in the conversation, but come prepared to respectfully listen and share.
When are limitations on free speech justified in America? With the advancement of technology, it is easy to connect with our friends, blast our thoughts and feelings to our followers and practice free speech. In this era of being connected all the time, we long to feel safe, while at the same time we are exposed via social media. How do we distinguish between disagreement, bullying and hate speech? Are there areas of common ground to be found?
